Osculati Progressive-Load Stainless Steel Mooring Spring – Variable Pitch, for Boats up to 15 m
The Osculati variable-pitch mooring spring is designed to provide progressive shock absorption for mooring systems exposed to wave action, wake, wind loads, and vessel movement.
Unlike conventional springs, the progressive-load design uses coils with different spacing. The closely spaced coils engage first during light loads, while additional coils gradually come into operation as the load increases. This progressive action helps prevent sudden spring compression, reduces impact loads, and minimizes the risk of spring damage caused by abrupt shock loading.
The spring is manufactured from polished stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long service life in marine environments. For maximum safety, installation together with a safety chain is recommended.
