ALU08C is manufactured from aluminium-indium-zinc alloy to MIL-A-24779 (SH) specification and weighs approximately 0.47 kg, while ZINK8C is manufactured from zinc to MIL-A-18001K specification and weighs approximately 1.00 kg. Aluminium is intended mainly for freshwater use, while zinc is suitable for salt and brackish water.

Vetus V-Quipment Bolt-On Anodes Ø90x45 mm – Aluminium & Zinc
The Vetus V-Quipment Type 8 bolt-on anodes are sacrificial anodes designed for cathodic protection of underwater metal components. They are available in aluminium and zinc versions with identical external dimensions.
The anode body measures Ø90 x 45 mm and features a central Ø8 mm mounting hole.

Material Selection
- ALU08C Aluminium: Recommended mainly for vessels operating in fresh water.
- ZINK8C Zinc: Recommended for vessels operating in salt water or brackish water.
- Aluminium can also be used in salt water, where it is consumed at a faster rate.
Installation
The anodes can be installed using studs welded to a steel hull or through-hull bolts for fibreglass and wooden vessels. Mounting studs and bolts are supplied separately.
The anode should be inspected regularly and replaced when approximately 50% of the sacrificial material has been consumed.
