The Maxwell RC12-11 is a stainless steel vertical automatic rope/chain hydraulic windlass with drum from the Maxwell RC12 Series, supplied under article number Vetus P104935. This model is equipped with a 90 TDC chainwheel with anti-clockwise (ACW) rotation and an integrated drum, engineered for reliable combined rope and chain anchoring operations on marine vessels.
The hydraulic drive provides smooth, controlled operation during anchor deployment and retrieval. The windlass incorporates an automatic rope/chain handling system, ensuring efficient transition between rope and chain. A ratcheted mechanism lever prevents backwinding during emergency manual recovery of the anchor rode, enhancing operational safety under load.
For safe and correct operation, this windlass must be used in conjunction with a chain stopper and/or an alternative snubbing device to remove load from the windlass while the vessel is lying at anchor.
