Vetus WOA012A Weld-On Aluminium Hull Anode Drop Shape 1.25 kg
The Vetus WOA012A is a drop-shaped weld-on aluminium hull anode engineered for effective cathodic protection of underwater metal components on vessels operating primarily in inland (fresh) waters. Aluminium anodes are recommended in freshwater because aluminium offers a greater potential difference than zinc under high electrical resistance conditions. This anode is manufactured from an aluminium-indium-zinc alloy in accordance with MIL-A-24779 (SH) specifications, ensuring stable and predictable corrosion performance.
Although aluminium anodes can also be used in saltwater, they are consumed at a faster rate than zinc. For saltwater and brackish environments, zinc anodes are therefore preferred. The WOA012A is supplied with galvanized steel tags, allowing direct weld-on installation to metal hulls for a low-profile and permanent mounting solution. Its drop-shaped contour follows the flowing lines of the hull, minimizing hydrodynamic drag while providing increased anode mass for extended service life in freshwater applications.
