Ventilation Function
Marine diesel engines require adequate airflow to operate correctly. The required volume of combustion air is approximately 6.1 m³ per kW (4.5 m³ per hp) per hour, based on a maximum air velocity of 3 m/sec. In addition to combustion air, an equivalent volume of ventilation air is required to dissipate radiated engine heat. The ASV020A vent supports these airflow requirements in marine installations.
