Vetus ASV040A Louvered Air Suction Vent for Marine Engines up to 40 HP
The Vetus ASV040A is a louvered air suction vent developed for marine ventilation systems where sufficient airflow is required for correct diesel engine operation. The vent is designed to support both combustion air intake and ventilation air for effective dissipation of radiated engine heat.
Product Description
This vent is manufactured with a polished anodised aluminium frame and naturally anodised aluminium grilles. The model designation ASV040A corresponds to suitability for engines with a power rating of up to 40 horsepower. The louvered construction allows controlled air intake while maintaining durability in marine environments.
Ventilation Function
A marine diesel engine requires sufficient air to function correctly. The volume of combustion air required is approximately 6.1 m³ per kW (4.5 m³ per hp) per hour, based on a maximum air velocity of 3 m/sec. In addition to combustion air, a similar volume of ventilation air is required to dissipate radiated engine heat. The ASV040A vent supports these airflow requirements in marine installations.
