Jabsco 6400-0051 - Half Cam Standard Shaft Engine Cooling Pump

The Jabsco 6400-0051 is a bronze engine cooling pump that features a Neoprene Impeller, Carbon/Ceramic Mechanical Seal, and 1-1/4 Inch NPT Internal Ports. It is a bare shafted pedestal pump end, with a nominal flow rate of 235 Litres/min at 1750rpm. This pump is able to prime at both low and high speeds, and can produce a vertical dry suction lift of up to 22 feet when fully wetted. It is important to ensure that the suction lines are airtight in order for the pump to self-prime. The Neoprene impeller is suitable for water and general-purpose pumping, but if there is any oil present, it is recommended to use the Nitrile impeller. This flexible impeller pump combines the priming feature of positive displacement pumps with the transfer ability of centrifugal pumps. It is able to handle both thin and viscous liquids, and can operate at any angle and in either direction. The pump is usually assembled for clockwise rotation, and it is important to note that it relies on the liquid being pumped for lubrication. Running the pump dry for more than 30 seconds can cause damage to the impeller and other components. The temperature range for the Neoprene impeller is 45 degrees F to 180 degrees F, and it is recommended to keep the pressure below 30 psi for continuous operation. For intermittent service, the high pressure impeller (807-1001) can handle pressures from 35 to 50 psi with an extra gasket.
