Aligning and concentric mounting of a boat's propeller shaft is not easy, if not impossible. The Vetus UNIFL1635 Flexible Coupling UNIFLEX 16 for a 35 mm shaft, including connection, offers a solution to this problem. As a high-quality Flexible Shaft Coupling, it provides the additional advantage of compensating for shaft misalignment with the reverse gear by up to 2°. On top of that, it centers the shaft on the reversing gear.

Therefore, the Uniflex coupling is an ideal flexible medium for a propeller shaft system with a freely suspended bottom bracket and an engine mounted on flexible engine mounts. If the shaft actually makes an angle of 2° with the motor, the maximum permissible speed is 1500 rpm, limited to the shaft.

These couplings are axially and radially secured against breakdown. These clutches are not suitable for V-gearboxes. The UNIFLEX coupling permits a misalignment of 2°. It will centre the shaft to the gearbox, resulting in an ideal flexible coupling for a propeller shaft.
