Clamcleat CL212BP / CL212BP-B Nylon Backplates for Sail & Fabric Cleats, White or Black
Clamcleat CL212BP and CL212BP-B are nylon backplates designed to reinforce cleat installations on sailcloth, fabric, canvas and webbing.
The backplate is positioned behind the mounting surface to spread the load over a wider area and help prevent rivets from pulling through thin or flexible materials. It can also be used when a cleat is sewn onto fabric.
The CL212BP is the white version and is intended for compatible white and silver cleats. The CL212BP-B is the black version for black and hard-anodised cleats.
For carbon fibre sails, alloy cleats should be sewn rather than riveted to help avoid corrosion of alloy rivets.

Installation Note
When fitting alloy cleats to carbon fibre sails, sew the cleat to the sail rather than using alloy rivets, as the rivets may corrode.
