Optiparts EX980 – Optimist Blackmax Mast Set with Complete Rigging
The Optiparts EX980 Blackmax mast set is the most powerful and stiff configuration within the BLACKGOLD™ range, engineered for advanced and heavier Optimist sailors who demand maximum performance and control.
The set includes the Blackgold Power mast (EX900), BLACKMAX 55 mm boom (EX955), and Blackgold Medium 27 mm sprit (EX960). All components are constructed from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium with a black hard anodized finish, ensuring exceptional durability and resistance to wear.
The 55 mm BLACKMAX boom delivers ultra-high stiffness and can be used without a bridle, allowing the sailor to move further forward when tacking and improving balance and maneuverability. The 27 mm Medium sprit provides a strong and responsive setup, being approximately 20% stiffer than the Lite version.
The mast set is supplied with a complete rigging pack (EX13591), including zero-stretch Vectran lines, Dyneema halyards, and premium Harken ball bearing blocks.
