The Blue Sea 3001 HD-Series Heavy Duty On-Off Battery Switch with AFD is designed for reliable power control in demanding marine environments. This switch is ideal for switching a single battery to a single load group, and it includes the Alternator Field Disconnect (AFD) feature, which protects the alternator diodes if the switch is turned off while the engine is running. The switch is ignition-protected, making it safe for installation aboard gasoline-powered boats. It can be mounted either on the surface or on a rear panel, providing flexibility in installation.
This battery switch is built to handle high power loads with a continuous rating of 600A and an intermittent rating of 900A for up to 5 minutes. It is designed to handle a cranking current of up to 1750A for 30 seconds, which is crucial for engine startup. The unit is constructed from durable materials, with a tinned copper stud size of 1/2" (M12) and an easy-to-install design. The Blue Sea 3001 is also compatible with 4/0 AWG cables, ensuring that it meets high power demands with a cable clearance of 1.10in (27.94 mm).
