Vetus Maxwell Intermediate Rollers for TASMAN Drum Winches & Anchor Winch Systems
The Vetus Maxwell Intermediate Roller range is designed to provide smooth and controlled guidance of anchor chain and rope between the bow roller and the winch. These rollers are suitable for both conventional anchor winch installations and TASMAN drum winch systems, ensuring reliable chain deflection and controlled rope handling.
Manufactured from polished marine-grade AISI 316 stainless steel, each intermediate roller features a low-friction sliding roller that reduces resistance during operation. An integrated guide hoop prevents the rope from leaving the roller while allowing even spooling onto the drum winch.

Operating Principle
- With a conventional anchor winch, the roller deflects the chain towards the chainwheel.
- When installed with a TASMAN drum winch below deck, it guides the chain and rope downward into the drum.
- The sliding roller minimizes resistance for smoother anchor handling.
- The guide hoop keeps the rope securely aligned throughout operation.
Applications
- Maxwell TASMAN drum winch installations
- Anchor handling systems
- Chain and rope guidance between bow and winch
- Marine anchoring systems on sailing yachts and motorboats
