The Maxwell RC12-HD 24V is a heavy-duty vertical electric windlass engineered for vessels requiring high service speeds and reliable anchoring performance. Its design is particularly well suited to patrol and professional vessels, where the reduced weight of rope and chain combination rodes helps minimize load at the bow and improve overall vessel balance.
This model is designed for use with 10 mm to 13 mm short link chain and 18 mm to 24 mm nylon rope. The motor and gearbox are sized to meet typical Classification Society test requirements for 12.5 mm U1 stud link chain, ensuring compatibility with demanding marine anchoring standards.
The windlass is fitted with a heavy-duty fan-cooled DC motor and a fin-cooled gearbox, allowing extended operating periods. Depending on load conditions, the DC configuration supports continuous operation at loads up to 300 kgf and run times of up to 5 minutes at loads of 700 kgf. The RC12-HD incorporates Maxwell’s patented Wave Design™ chainwheel for smooth and secure chain handling.
