Vetus VRF56A Vacuum Valve Ø56 mm for Waste Water Tanks
The Vetus VRF56A vacuum valve is a critical safety component for waste water tanks emptied via powerful shore-based pump-out stations. During pump-out, strong suction can create a high vacuum inside the tank. If sufficient air is unable to enter through the breather line, the tank may collapse. The VRF56A prevents this by automatically opening when vacuum pressure rises, allowing air to enter the tank and equalise internal pressure.
With a free airflow area exceeding 1,100 mm², the valve complies fully with ISO 8099 standards. It is designed for installation into a Ø56 mm hole, matching the cut-out size of Vetus extraction pipes for convenient integration. The use of this valve eliminates the need for oversized vent hoses in installations where standard vent diameters are insufficient for safe pump-out operations.
The VRF56A is especially recommended when the tank’s breather line has a diameter smaller than 19 mm, or — for tanks over 400 litres — smaller than 38 mm. Manufactured entirely from synthetic, corrosion-free materials, the valve offers long-lasting reliability in marine environments.
