The Vetus P14295 Maxwell HWC3500 hydraulic windlass unit is part of the Maxwell HWC Series and is intended for automatic horizontal handling of chain-only anchor rods. It incorporates a hydraulic motor with fully automatic chainring operation in one or two directions, plus an independent stainless steel warp drum for front and rear rope pulling. The cone-shaped clutch/brake mechanism supports manual anchoring in “free fall” with smooth, progressive engagement, and the chain ring and warping drum are chrome-plated over marine bronze within a seawater-resistant alloy housing that is pre-treated, powder-coated, and finished in white two-component polyurethane paint for marine service.
