The Vetus BPSPE series/parallel switch enables simple integration of 24V bow thrusters into vessels equipped with a 12V electrical system. During operation, the switch automatically connects two 12V batteries in series to provide the required 24V supply for the thruster. When the thruster is not engaged, the switch returns the batteries to a parallel configuration for seamless 12V charging. This system ensures reliable performance without requiring a dedicated 24V charging installation.

Usage Notes
- Do not use the same batteries for engine starting
- Do not connect an anchor windlass to these batteries
- Charging contacts must not exceed 100A continuous current
The BPSPE allows the use of Vetus 24V bow thrusters (such as 160 kgf and 220 kgf models) on vessels with 12V onboard power systems. A similar switch is supplied for the 285 kgf 48V thruster; a separate 48V version is available for other configurations.
