The Jabsco 7420-0101 is a high-performance engine cooling pump designed for versatility and efficiency. Constructed from durable bronze with a Neoprene impeller, this pump features a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal and 1-1/4 inch NPT internal ports. It comes as a bare shafted pedestal pump end only, equipped with a full thickness cam and standard length shaft. With a nominal flow rate of 235 liters per minute (62 gallons per minute) at 1750 RPM, it can prime at both low and high speeds.

For vertical dry suction lifts of up to 10 feet (3.0 meters), the pump requires a minimum of 800 RPM. When wetted, it can achieve a suction lift of up to 22 feet (6.7 meters). Proper priming requires airtight suction lines. The Neoprene impeller is suitable for water and general-purpose pumping; however, if oil is present, a Nitrile impeller should be used. This pump merges the advantages of positive displacement with the general transfer capability of centrifugal pumps, handling both thin and viscous liquids and accommodating more solids in suspension compared to other rotary pumps.

The Jabsco 7420-0101 operates effectively at any angle and direction, with the rotation of the pump shaft determining the intake and discharge port locations. It is generally assembled for clockwise rotation at the factory when viewed from the end cover. The pump depends on the liquid being pumped for lubrication; it should not run dry for more than 30 seconds to avoid damaging the impeller and pump components. The Neoprene impeller functions within a temperature range of 45°F to 180°F (7°C to 82°C), and for continuous operation, the pressure should not exceed 30 psi. For intermittent use, pressures of 35 to 50 psi can be achieved with the high-pressure impeller (part number 807-1001) and an additional gasket.

Note that this pump should not be used to pump gasoline or other flammable liquids, and it must not be run dry.
