The Vetus CANVXCJP is an electronic interface module for connecting a proportional joystick to the vessel’s V-CAN bus, enabling proportional control of the thrust of Vetus BOW PRO (or RIMDRIVE) bow and/or stern thrusters. The module does not include the joystick itself and requires a compatible Vetus joystick (e.g. DBPPJX). Proper installation and wiring are critical for stable operation; incorrect wiring or reversed polarity may cause permanent damage.

Vetus CANVXCJP Proportional Thruster Joystick Interface for BOW PRO / RIMDRIVE (CAN-bus)
The Vetus CANVXCJP interface allows integration of a proportional joystick into the V-CAN network to control bow and/or stern thrusters of the BOW PRO / RIMDRIVE series. The module facilitates smooth, proportional thrust control and system communication over the CAN bus, suitable for modern onboard electronics setups. Note: joystick not included.
Key Features
- Allows connection of a Vetus proportional joystick to the V-CAN bus system
- Supports proportional control of BOW PRO / RIMDRIVE bow and/or stern thrusters
- Enables smooth and precise thrust adjustment (not just on/off)
- Compatible with multi-station configuration — each joystick requires its own CANVXCJP interface
- Requires correct installation and proper battery / CAN bus wiring for reliable operation
- Joystick not included — sold separately
Typical Applications
- Installation of a new proportional thruster control system with CAN integration
- Retrofit or upgrade of existing non-CAN thruster controls to modern BOW PRO / RIMDRIVE standard
- Setup of multi-station thruster control (multiple joysticks from different helm positions)
- Replacement of failed/non-CAN analog thruster controls with digital CAN-based interface
Important Installation & Safety Notes
- Only qualified personnel should perform installation. Incorrect wiring may result in permanent damage.:contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
- Must ensure correct battery polarity when connecting power supply — reversed polarity will damage the interface.:contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
- Each joystick requires a separate CANVXCJP interface — do not reuse a single interface for multiple joysticks.:contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
- After installation, check and configure thrust direction carefully: joystick movement and resulting boat motion must correspond.:contentReference[oaicite:5]{index=5}
