TruDesign Mould Plugs for Recessed Skin Fittings are designed to create precise recesses in fiberglass (GRP) hulls for the flush installation of TruDesign Recessed Skin Fittings. Designed and manufactured to simplify modern marine construction, these mould plugs allow the recess to be formed directly during the fiberglass lay-up process rather than requiring complex machining after hull demoulding.
Manufactured from injection-moulded polypropylene, the plugs feature a low-adhesion “waxy” surface for easy removal after curing. The moulded design accurately forms the bevelled recess profile required for TruDesign recessed through-hull fittings while maintaining hull integrity and reducing the risk of delamination or moisture ingress.
Additional design features include integrated drill-centre locators, embossed sizing information, and an adhesive channel beneath the fitting head area to improve sealant bonding during final installation.
