The TruDesign Integrated Scoop Intake Strainer is a high-capacity marine intake strainer designed to protect onboard water intake systems from debris, seaweed, grass, sticks, and floating waste. Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, this integrated scoop strainer improves water intake reliability while helping prevent blockages and intake filter clogging in marine systems.
The scoop-style design diverts larger debris away from the intake opening while the vessel is moving, allowing water movement to naturally assist in keeping the intake area clear. This makes the strainer particularly suitable for engine cooling systems and other marine water intake applications operating in demanding environments.
Manufactured from TruDesign’s glass-reinforced composite material, the strainer eliminates corrosion and electrical bonding issues associated with traditional metallic fittings. The composite construction also allows the unit to be painted with antifouling coatings and faired into the hull without corrosion concerns.
