The microcontroller system of "adaptable" control allows you to control the charging mode, which is so important for sealed batteries. Four stages of charging: accumulation - absorption - equilibrium - maintenance. The "maintain" function automatically reduces the equilibrium voltage to 13.2/26.4 V in order to reduce sulfation and corrosion of positive plates.

Phoenix Charger 12/24 series ship chargers. Universal AC 90-265V Input
All models will work without any necessary adjustments from a 90- 265V AC source with a frequency of 50 or 60Hz. The chargers can also operate from a 90-400V DC source.
Adaptive 4-Step Charging Capability
The Phoenix Charger has an adaptive 4-step charging characteristic: fill-absorb-float-store. The charger operates under the control of a microprocessor according to the adaptive battery charge control algorithm. Adaptive Control is a feature of automatically optimizing battery mode charging.
Correct Charge Amount: Variable Absorption Phase Time
When only small discharges occur, the absorption phase time will be short in order to prevent recharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, for a full battery charge, the absorption time is automatically increased.
Prevent damage due to excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode:
If a high charging current was chosen in combination with a high absorption voltage in order to quickly charge the batteries, the Phoenix Charger will prevent damage to the battery due to excessive gas emission. Once the gassing voltage is reached, the charger will automatically limit the rate at which the voltage increases.
Storage mode:
The storage mode is initialized when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In the storage mode, the floating charge voltage is reduced to 2,2V/cell (13,2V for battery 12V) to minimize the release of gases and corrosion of positive plates. Once a week, the voltage rises back to the absorption level to "level up" the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte delamination and plate sulfation, the main causes of early battery failure.
Extended battery life: temperature compensation:
Each Phoenix charger comes with a temperature sensor. When the battery temperature increases, the charge voltage will automatically decrease. This feature is especially recommended for sealed batteries.
Correct Charge Voltage: Sensor Input Battery Voltage
In order to compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance, Phoenix chargers are provided with an input for sensing the battery voltage. This allows the charger to adjust the output voltage so that the battery always receives the correct charge voltage.
Computer Interface
Phoenix chargers can communicate with the computer through its RS-485 data port (USB MK2 and VE.Configure software are required), for all settings. Chargers can also be integrated into the VE.Net control network of Victron Energy, or other computerized monitoring and control systems.
