Victron Energy Centaur Battery Charger

Designed to meet the requirements of both CE for Europe and UL for the United States, Centaur chargers are equipped with automatic selection of input voltage 90-265VAC 50/60Hz. This means they can be used anywhere in the world. The fact that the same product is suitable for any yacht, regardless of the intended market, is a big advantage for the developer of the yacht and boat. It is important to note that unlike other products that have universal input, Centaur will maintain full power over the entire specified input voltage range.

An aluminum case with an epoxy powder coating is able to withstand harsh adverse operating conditions: heat, humidity and salt air. Printed circuit boards are protected with acrylic coating for maximum corrosion protection. Temperature sensors ensure the operation of the power elements always within the specified limits, and if necessary, under extreme environmental conditions, the output current is automatically reduced.

Universal AC 90-265V Input
All models will work without any necessary adjustments from the 90- 265V AC source, be it 50 or 60Hz. The chargers can also operate from 90-400V DC.

Three DC outputs
Three isolated outputs can simultaneously charge 3 separate batteries (the maximum charging current is distributed). Each output can provide a full rated current.

Three stages of charging, temperature compensated
The Centaur charger operates in fill phase mode until the output current is reduced by 70% of the rated current. Further, for 4 hours (timer), the charger will operate in the absorption phase mode. After the timer ends, Centaur will switch to floating charge mode. The internal temperature sensor is used to compensate for the charge voltage - 2mV/° C (-1mV/° F) per cell. DIP switches can select the optimal charging voltage for lead-acid, GEL or AGM batteries.
