Engineered for sailors who demand precision and reliability, this hydraulic backstay adjuster allows rapid sail shape optimization for racing or smooth mast tension adjustments for cruising. Designed with an integrated single-acting pump, it combines durability and ease of use.
- Includes a hardcoat-anodized aluminum cylinder and pump, a valve, and a stainless steel pump handle with two attachment options:
- Roll pin installed for permanent handle locking
- Roll pin removed for removable handle storage
- Cylinders equipped with clevis pins on both ends for secure installation
- Fiberglass position indicator attached to the top clevis pin slides down during retraction for consistent tension settings
- Standard eye-jaw toggles compatible with all Harken cylinders, recommended for all installations
- Pressure-release knob operates clockwise to close and pump, counterclockwise to release; cannot be over-tightened by hand
- Release speed controlled by knob rotation; factory-set pressure relief prevents over-tensioning
- Available in four sizes to fit boats 9 - 18 m (30 - 60') with stay diameters of 5 - 10 mm (7/32 - 3/8")
