The Optiparts EX1118 protection pack is a comprehensive solution for safeguarding key wear points on an Optimist dinghy. The kit includes 29 pieces of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW) tape, a high-impact thermoplastic material with strong acrylic adhesive backing, designed to reduce friction and prevent abrasion.
The set covers multiple critical areas including maststep, outhaul, daggerboard slot, mast, sprit and hull corners. An additional 11 meter rigging tape roll is included for versatile use across the boat.
Various strip thicknesses and formats allow precise adjustment to minimize play and friction, particularly in the daggerboard case. The kit also includes daggerboard stoppers for improved positioning.

Installation Guidelines
- Ensure surfaces are clean and dry before application
- Remove backing and apply from center outward to avoid air bubbles
- Cut tape to required size if necessary
- Use layered strips to adjust daggerboard fit precisely
- Apply rigging tape with at least 25% overlap
