Vetus SAR40Z Shaft Ring Zinc Anode for 40 mm Propeller Shaft
The Vetus SAR40Z is a ring-type zinc anode designed to protect marine propeller shafts with a diameter of 40 mm against galvanic corrosion. Manufactured from high-quality zinc in accordance with U.S. MIL-A-18001K specifications, this anode is intended for use in saltwater and brackish water environments.
Zinc anodes are recommended for vessels operating in salt or brackish water, where electrical resistance is low and effective cathodic protection is required. In freshwater environments, aluminium anodes are typically preferred due to their higher potential difference. The compact ring design of the SAR40Z allows direct mounting on the shaft while maintaining a low profile. With a height of 20 mm and an outer diameter of 80 mm, it provides protection without excessive obstruction.
