The MUIR Anchor Chain Tensioner "Claw" is a robust stainless steel chain securing device designed to safely transfer anchor loads from the windlass to the vessel's deck structure. By relieving constant tension on the windlass gearbox and gypsy, it helps extend the service life of the anchoring system while improving safety during navigation.
The claw securely grips the anchor chain and is connected by an adjustable stainless steel turnbuckle, allowing the chain to be tensioned after anchoring. This provides reliable anchor retention and minimizes movement of both the anchor and chain while the vessel is underway.
The tensioner is manufactured entirely from marine-grade stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance and is available in versions suitable for 10 mm, 13 mm and 14–16 mm anchor chain.
