What are the key features of a Sleipner bow thruster?
The key features of a Sleipner bow thruster include a robust motor and advanced electronic control systems provided by the Sleipner Group. These thrusters, such as the Sleipner Side Power series, feature a joystick control panel for precise maneuverability and a touch panel interface for easy operation. Sleipner thrusters also come with components like an aluminum alloy anode for corrosion protection, a fuse for electrical safety, and a comprehensive propeller upgrade kit to enhance performance. For more information, you can browse the catalog or contact with us.
How does an anode protect the thruster components from corrosion?
An anode protects the thruster components from corrosion by acting as a sacrificial metal that corrodes instead of the thruster's essential parts. In tunnel thrusters, including the externally mounted ones, anodes made of zinc are commonly used to ensure the longevity and reliability of components like the bow thruster aluminum and propeller drive pin. By integrating anodes, customers can rely on their thrusters, whether they use DC power or more complex 4-wire and 5-wire systems, to remain functional and corrosion-free.
How does the propeller upgrade kit improve the performance of Sleipner tunnel thrusters?
The propeller upgrade kit, such as the Sleipner Q-Prop, improves the performance of Sleipner tunnel thrusters by increasing thrust efficiency and reducing noise levels. This kit is designed to enhance the overall effectiveness of models like the SE40, SE60, SE80, and SE100, ensuring smoother operation and better maneuverability.
