Vetus P4G16X - Propeller P4G 4-blade 16"

Vetus employs a specialized computer program to calculate the suitable propeller for your vessel based on its characteristics. The performance of a propeller is influenced not only by its diameter, pitch, number and shape of blades, disc ratio, and other parameters, but also by the material and precision of manufacture.
- Balance: Propellers often rotate at high speeds, sometimes up to 2,000 rpm (or over 30 revolutions per second!), and must be very well balanced.
- Precise dimensions: To enhance efficiency and prevent vibration, blade pitches must be uniform, and the distance between blades consistent, requiring great precision in manufacturing.
- Material: Typically, Vetus propellers are made of manganese bronze – an extremely resilient yet very flexible material. Thanks to this, Vetus propellers can often be repaired if damaged. When necessary, stronger bronze alloys with added aluminum are used for propeller manufacture.
- Blade area: When selecting the right propeller, it is essential to determine the number of blades and the required disc ratio (Fa/F). This ratio represents the ratio of the total area of the propeller circle (F) to the area of the straightened surface of all the blades together (Fa). The choice of Fa/F ratio depends on the shape of the vessel's underwater hull, its speed, and other parameters.
- Inventory: Vetus manufactures and maintains a wide range of propellers in stock, including 3-blade types P3B and P3C, 4-blade types P4E and P4G, as well as 5-blade type P5G. Vetus also calculates and supplies custom propellers on special order.
