These new battery chargers have a four-stage IUoU charging characteristic:

1. In the first main charging stage, the battery receives continuous maximum current charging. Once the battery is charged to approximately 75% of its full capacity, the charger will automatically switch to a constant voltage absorption stage for the remaining 25%.
2. Once the battery is fully charged, the charger will maintain the charging phase for 15 minutes (provided charge is below 6.25% of the charge current) and then switches to the float charge stage. At this stage, the battery charger will maintain a full charge without overcharging the battery. It compensates for self-discharge and “floats” with the drain on the battery.
3. After warming up in the swim stage for 12 days, the charger performs the final reconditioning stage. In this phase, the charger only switches to the bulk stage for 85 minutes to ensure that the battery stays in optimal condition. With easily accessible DIP switches, the maximum charge voltage can be adjusted to the type of battery. These chargers are suitable for all AC voltage sources from 90V to 265V. Active power factor correction takes care of unwanted line noise.

VETUS battery chargers are extensively tested, including a 2G vibration test, to meet our quality standards and ensure long-term operation. These new chargers are compatible with Lead Acid, Li-Ion, Gel, and AGM batteries and can be connected to a Remote Control (BCRP) and Battery Temperature Sensor (BCTS). The chargers have a separate alarm contact, and the fan speed can be adjusted for convenience.

A battery charger/maintainer with a maximum output of 2A is available for models BC12151, BC12252, and BC12352.
