The Jabsco 8983-0005 impeller is designed for high-pressure sanitary applications. Constructed from 3A Sanitary Food Grade Neoprene, this flexible rubber impeller features 10 blades and measures 3-3/4 inches wide by 2-1/2 inches thick. It has a 1 inch Epoxy Plastic Double Flat shaft hub. Suitable for use in hygienic flexible impeller pumps, this impeller is ideal for handling food, beverage, and pharmaceutical products. It meets stringent hygienic standards and offers excellent chemical resistance, operating effectively within a temperature range of 45°F to 165°F. Note that it should not be used with severe solvents or acids. For compatibility with pump materials, refer to the Jabsco Chemical resistance table or consult the factory. To extend the life of the pump when handling corrosive substances, flush with water after each use. This impeller is capable of managing both low and high-viscosity liquids, gels, and pastes, and can handle suspended soft and hard solids with minimal damage. Its output-flow is smooth, steady, and pulsation-free, making it suitable for shear-sensitive or fragile liquids.
