Viton material provides excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, solvents, and corrosive chemicals, making this impeller suitable for various industrial applications. To extend the life of the pump, it is recommended to flush it with water after each use if pumping corrosive substances. The impeller operates effectively within a temperature range of 60°F (15.6°C) to 180°F (82.2°C). However, it is important to note that Viton impellers may exhibit reduced performance in low temperatures and high-pressure situations. They are designed with softer materials, resulting in a flow rate approximately 10 percent below the listed pump performance.
