The Jabsco 8860-0003 is a versatile and durable pump designed for various marine applications. Constructed from bronze, this flexible impeller pump features a Lip Type seal and is powered by a 12 Volt DC motor. It delivers a nominal flow rate of 1.8 gallons per minute (6.8 liters per minute) and is capable of self-priming from a dry state up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) and a lift of up to 15 feet (5 meters) once primed. Proper suction line installation is essential, as any leaks will prevent self-priming.

The motor is a 12 volt DC, Permanent Magnet type, fully enclosed with a stainless steel shaft, drawing 4 amps and requiring a 10 amp fuse. It operates at high temperatures, typically around 180 degrees Fahrenheit, and complies with USCG Electrical Standards for ignition protection on gasoline-powered vessels. The brass-bodied pump handles small bilge debris effectively and is designed with fewer wearing parts for reliability. It must be mounted in a dry location as the motor is not waterproof and should not be submerged. Choosing a cool mounting location can extend the motor's lifespan. For optimal performance, ensure the pump is installed so that water from loose port connections does not come into contact with the motor. The pump head can be rotated 180 degrees to reverse the flow direction. The temperature range for pumped liquids is between 45 and 160 degrees Fahrenheit (10 to 70 degrees Celsius), with a maximum operating pressure not exceeding 35 feet of head (15 psi).
