The Jabsco 8840-0002B impeller is engineered for high-pressure, sanitary applications, combining flexibility with durability. This advanced impeller is crafted from 3A Sanitary Food Grade EPDM rubber, which is ideal for maintaining hygienic standards in elevated temperature environments up to 185°F (85°C). With its 8-blade design and dimensions of 2-9/16 inches in width (65mm) and 2 inches in thickness (51mm), it features a 5/8 inch (16mm) Epoxy Plastic Double Flat shaft hub.
The EPDM material used in this impeller is resistant to certain ketone solvents and is suitable for handling both low-viscosity and high-viscosity fluids, including gels and pastes. It can also process suspended soft and hard solids with minimal damage, ensuring a smooth and steady output-flow that is free from pulsations. The impeller's gentle pumping action is especially beneficial for shear-sensitive or fragile liquids, preventing degradation during transfer.
For optimal performance, it's recommended to flush the pump with water after handling corrosive products to extend its lifespan.
