Neoprene is the preferred material for flexible impellers due to its excellent chemical resistance and temperature tolerance, ranging from 45°F (7°C) to 180°F (82°C). This makes it suitable for engine cooling as well as both fresh and saltwater transfer applications. While Neoprene handles small amounts of oil or diesel fuel, it is essential to replace impellers annually or more frequently based on engine use.
