Installation Instructions:
- Mount the accumulator tank near the water pressure system pump, either vertically or horizontally for ease of installation and maintenance.
- Connect the plumbing to the 3/4" NPT port using a minimum of 1/2" pressure line (for tanks close to the pump, 3/8" plumbing can be used).
- A relief valve set at 75 psi is recommended if the pump exceeds 100 psi. Ensure a relief valve is already installed at the water heater if applicable.
- Precharge pressure must match the pump cut-in pressure. If your pump has a cut-in pressure between 17 and 20 psi (1.2 to 1.4 bar), no adjustment is needed. If the cut-in pressure is outside this range, adjust the precharge pressure using a tire gauge and tire pump.
- Do not exceed a maximum precharge pressure of 75 psi to avoid damage to the tank.
How the Pressure Accumulator Works:
- The tank's precharged air cushion compresses as the pump operates, filling the system with water until maximum pressure is reached, at which point the pump shuts off.
- When water is drawn from the system, the air cushion forces water into the system, keeping the pump off until the pressure drops below the minimum set point. This ensures efficient operation and minimizes energy use.
- The diaphragm inside the tank maintains separation between air and water, ensuring proper function and long-lasting performance.
