Jabsco 18786-0003 - Impeller Nitrile is a flexible rubber impeller made of Nitrile. It features 9 blades/fins and measures 4-5/8 inches wide (117mm) by 3-1/2 inches thick (89mm). The impeller has a 1 inch (25mm) Epoxy Plastic Double Flat shaft hub.

This impeller, constructed from Nitrile rubber material, is suitable for bilge pumping and transfer duties involving heavily contaminated water, such as oil or diesel. It is recommended to replace all impellers at least once every year or sooner, depending on the engine duty. Proper installation can extend the impeller's lifespan, but it is advisable to adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule.

Nitrile impellers can handle a variety of substances including oils, oil and water emulsions, diesel fuel, lower-fraction hydrocarbons, kerosene, lubricating and machine-cutting oil. For pumping corrosive products, flushing the pump with water at the end of each work cycle can prolong pump life.

The temperature range of Nitrile impellers is 50 degrees F (10 degrees C) to 180 degrees F (82.2 degrees C). Lower temperatures can impact priming ability and performance. Nitrile impellers are softer and may result in a reduced rated flow 10 percent below the listed pump performance.

It is recommended to always have spare impellers on board in case of emergencies. The impeller is a crucial component of the engine cooling system and should be maintained accordingly.
