The Jabsco 18753-0364 Mechanical Seal is designed for durability and reliability, featuring a tungsten carbide construction combined with nitrile materials. This product has been updated by the manufacturer and will now be shipped as Jabsco Pumps part # 18753-0247.
To remove the mechanical seal, carefully insert two screwdrivers behind the seal collar and gently lever the collar and seal assembly forward on the shaft. Take extreme care to avoid damaging the shaft surface. Next, remove the seal seat and rubber cup from the recess in the wear plate. For installation, slide the spacer onto the shaft up to the locating shoulder, then apply a light lubricating oil to the shaft. Gently push the seal onto the shaft until it engages with the spacer, and finally, fit the rubber cup and seal seat back into the wear plate.
