The Jabsco 14281-0004 Impeller is a crucial component for various pumping applications. This flexible rubber impeller, made of Viton, boasts 12 blades/fins, measuring 2-1/4 inches wide (57mm) by 1-1/4 inches thick (32mm). It features a 5/8 inch (16mm) Epoxy Plastic Double Flat shaft hub, ensuring durability and efficient operation.
Crafted from Viton (FKM) rubber material, this impeller offers exceptional compatibility with hydrocarbons, solvents, and even severely corrosive chemicals. To enhance the lifespan of the pump when handling corrosive products, it is recommended to flush the pump with water at the end of each work cycle.
The temperature range of the Viton impeller spans from 60 degrees F (15.6 degrees C) to 180 degrees F (82.2 degrees C). However, it's important to note that lower temperatures may affect the priming ability and performance characteristics of the impeller. Therefore, Viton is not recommended for low-temperature or high-pressure applications.
While the Viton impellers are softer, they still offer reliable performance. However, it's worth mentioning that the flow rate may be slightly reduced, approximately 10 percent below the listed pump performance.
