The Bullflex-type Vetus elastic coupling is a response to the growing need for comfort on board the vessel. The Bullflex coupling is specially designed for optimal vibration suppression.
Vibration due to torsional vibrations due to uneven engine operation, especially at low speeds, is effectively eliminated due to the flexible rubber insert. This prestressed rubber element ensures low noise, no play and no vibration when transmitting torque from the engine to the propeller. The Bullflex clutch reliably protects the gearbox from axial and radial impact, ensuring safe transmission of force under any conditions. Another strength of the Bullflex clutch is the immaculate installation of the propeller shaft line. The ideal elimination of the inability of the engine and propeller shaft, their centering even at a fracture angle of 2 ° is possible using the Bullflex coupling (we recommend that you be careful when centering). Thanks to a special centering ring, high shaft revolutions are allowed, both on the front and on the rear, the shaft will be perfectly centered. The non-conical locking hub will allow easy installation and removal of the shaft. Unlike the cone hub, there is no need for the expensive operation of taper shaft machining and keyway cutting. It is only necessary to carefully cut the shaft along the length, degrease and install it.
Bullflex couplings 1, 2 and 4 for connection to the gearbox have holes M10 on the circumference of 82.5 mm (3.25 "). Bullflex couplings 8, 12 and 16 M10 holes on the circumference of 82.5 mm (3.25 ") and 108 mm (4.25").
The Bullflex 32 is equipped with 6 holes M16 on the circumference of Ø 120.65 mm (4.75 "). This allows the Bullflex coupling to be attached to most gearboxes manufactured by Hurth, Velvet, TD, ZF and P.R.M.

The engine on flexible supports will, by definition, always oscillate. When the propeller shaft is rigidly mounted, i.e. supported by two or more fixed bearings, motor Osculations shall not be transmitted to the propeller shaft.
If this happens, the engine mount, coupling and shaft glands may be damaged. If the shaft is rigidly installed, then you can remove the centering ring from Bullflex coupling. In this case, the rocking movements of the engine mounted on elastic supports will not be transmitted to the propeller shaft, but will be easily extinguished by the Bullflex clutch. Removal of the centering ring will not affect the vibration pressure characteristic. When the propeller shaft is supported by a single support, Bullflex coupling with installed the centering ring will act as a flexible hinge joint. The propeller shaft will thus be supported and centered within the Bullflex clutch despite engine movements.
