The Python-Drive is a comprehensive drive system designed for yachts, sloops, and workboats of various sizes and types. Once installed, there is no longer a need for periodic engine alignment with the propeller shaft, eliminating bothersome axial drive reactions. Additionally, thrust pressure is gently transferred to the hull through a specialized suspension system of the thrust bearing, which is mounted in rubber to reduce strain.
The core of every Python-Drive is the maintenance-free CV joint drive shaft, which is perfectly suited for the task. The drive system is designed to withstand the rigors of various boating conditions, offering a robust performance across different models. The thrust bearing, also maintenance-free, is large in all models. It is mounted using a clamping ring that centers the propeller shaft directly behind the CV joint drive shaft, ensuring reliability and stability.
The CV joint drive shaft maintains a consistent rotation rate even at unequal angles, significantly reducing wear on the rotating parts of the system. Additionally, the Python-Drive features a short installation length, making it easy to integrate into a variety of vessel configurations. Complete units come with all necessary materials for installation, including an adapter flange compatible with the most common gearbox types, a homokinetic drive shaft, a durable thrust bearing unit, and all bolts, nuts, lock washers, and rubbers for absorbing thrust.
Units are available for shaft diameters ranging from 19 mm to 100 mm, including inch sizes. Conical shaft fits can be provided upon request, and separate CV kinetic drive shafts for torques up to 1,500 Kgm (approximately 14.7 kNm) are available as standard. The thrust bearings can also be mounted separately at any location along the propeller shaft for easy customization.
