AxiSeal® Standby Propeller Shaft Seal, Shaft Ø60 mm
The AxiSeal® is a cutting-edge solution for water-lubricated propeller shaft systems, using a unique sealing method that sets it apart from conventional radial seals like gland gaskets or lip seals.
- Incorporates a rotating sliding ring that rotates with the propeller shaft, pressed against a stationary Silicon Carbide (SiC) sliding ring by a spiral spring.
- Its minimal friction ensures a long service life, enhanced by a lubricating water film between the sliding surfaces.
- The "Stand-by" Seal option allows for a watertight seal during maintenance and repairs.
- This additional seal is positioned between the shaft flange and the AxiSeal and is inflated with an air pump.
- It provides the advantage of disassembling and replacing AxiSeal parts while the vessel remains afloat.
- Compatible with propeller shaft diameters of Ø35 to Ø185 mm (1" to 7¼").
