AxiSeal® Standby Propeller Shaft Seal, Shaft Ø50 mm
The AxiSeal® is a high-performance seal specifically designed for water-lubricated propeller shaft systems. It uses a unique sealing technique, distinct from traditional radial seals such as gland gaskets or lip seals.
- Consists of a rotating sliding ring that works with the propeller shaft, pressed against a stationary Silicon Carbide (SiC) sliding ring by a spiral spring.
- Minimal friction between the sliding surfaces ensures extended service life, supported by a lubricating water film.
- Features an optional "Stand-by" Seal that provides a watertight seal during maintenance.
- The "Stand-by" Seal fits between the shaft flange and AxiSeal, inflated by an air pump to maintain integrity.
- This setup allows for AxiSeal disassembly and part replacement without submerging the vessel.
- Available for propeller shaft diameters of Ø35 to Ø185 mm (1" to 7¼").
