Vetus stainless steel deck necks, available in 38mm for FSA38 and 51mm for FSA51, are excellent choices for this purpose. Installation is quick and straightforward, making it a valuable addition to your boat.
This versatile device is suitable for use with both diesel fuel and gasoline, offering flexibility and peace of mind for boat owners. There are three models available in the Vetus range:
- FSA3816: Filling hose Ø 38 mm, ventilation hose Ø 16 mm
- FSA5116: Filling hose Ø 51 mm, ventilation hose Ø 16 mm
- FSA5119: Filling hose Ø 51 mm, ventilation hose Ø 19 mm
Hoses and clamps are sold separately, and the FSA splash-stop connects directly to the deck neck. The design of "deck neck + splash stop" ensures that fuel and foam cannot overflow through the deck neck, preventing contamination of the deck and water area. Excess fuel is directed into the parallel hose, effectively acting as an overflow tank.
The 38mm (1.50") diameter hose-tank has a volume of 113 cm³ per 10 cm of length, while the 51mm (2.0") diameter hose has a volume of 204 cm³ per 10 cm of length. It is recommended to use a 560 cm³ overflow fuel tank for a 40-liter fuel tank and a 2000 cm³ tank for a 400-liter fuel tank.
Excess fuel is drained from the "tank hose" back into the main fuel tank, maintaining fuel efficiency and preventing waste. If you are using diesel fuel, you can mount a diesel odor filter in the vent line. However, this cannot be done when gasoline is used as fuel. The anti-odor filter is positioned above the deck neck to prevent excess fuel from reaching it. Ensure that the vent hose outlet is located below the filter to prevent water ingress.
