Vetus FSA Fuel Splash-Stop

The Vetus FSA Fuel Splash-Stop is an innovative solution crafted with anodized aluminum to prevent fuel spills while meeting the latest CE and ABYC standards. This device is an essential addition to your boat, ensuring a cleaner environment by preventing fuel overflow and foam spillage. The splash-stop connects directly to a compatible deck neck (sold separately) and is suitable for both diesel and gasoline fuel systems.

The Vetus FSA Fuel Splash-Stop is available in three models to suit different hose and ventilation requirements:

• FSA3816: Filling hose Ø 38 mm, ventilation hose Ø 16 mm
• FSA5116: Filling hose Ø 51 mm, ventilation hose Ø 16 mm
• FSA5119: Filling hose Ø 51 mm, ventilation hose Ø 19 mm

Hoses and clamps are sold separately, and installation of the FSA splash-stop is quick and straightforward. It is designed to work with Vetus stainless steel deck necks—FSA38 for the 38mm size and FSA51 for the 51mm size. The "deck neck + splash-stop" design ensures that fuel and foam cannot overflow through the deck neck, preventing contamination of the deck and water area. Excess fuel is directed into a parallel hose, which functions as an overflow tank.

The volume of the overflow hose is as follows:

• 38mm (1.50") diameter hose: 113 cm³ per 10 cm of length
• 51mm (2.0") diameter hose: 204 cm³ per 10 cm of length

For a 40-liter fuel tank, a 560 cm³ overflow fuel tank is recommended, and for a 400-liter fuel tank, a 2000 cm³ overflow tank is suggested. Excess fuel is drained back into the main fuel tank, maintaining fuel efficiency and minimizing waste.

If using diesel fuel, a diesel odor filter can be installed in the vent line, positioned above the deck neck to prevent excess fuel from reaching it. However, this installation is not recommended when using gasoline. Ensure that the vent hose outlet is located below the filter to avoid water ingress.
