Vetus XHSM Sensor For Exhaust Temperature Alarm

The Vetus XHSM Exhaust Temperature Alarm Sensor is designed to work in conjunction with the Vetus XHI Exhaust Temperature Alarm Indicator. Specifically engineered for installation in water locks and silencers, including models like MF, MV, LSG, LSS, MGS, MGL, and MGP, this sensor ensures your exhaust system remains safe from dangerous temperature increases.

When cooling water volume is compromised—whether due to water intake clogs or damage to the water pump impeller—the exhaust temperature can rise rapidly, often faster than the engine temperature. The Vetus XHSM Sensor helps prevent this risk by providing accurate temperature readings, triggering an alarm if the exhaust hose or silencer temperature exceeds safe limits.

This sensor is easily integrated with the Vetus XHI alarm system, which delivers both visual and audible alerts in case of overheating. Please note that both the sensor and alarm unit are ordered separately to complete the system.

The Vetus XHSM sensor is available in two types for different installation points:
- XHSM: For installation in silencers.
- XHSH: For installation in exhaust hoses.
For boats with two motors, sensors can be connected to a single alarm unit, and one sensor can also serve multiple alarms, which is useful for setups with a secondary control station. The alarm unit features an installation size of Ø 52 mm, with an external size of Ø 62 mm, and is compatible with both 12V and 24V systems.
