The Vetus XHI Exhaust Temperature Alarm Indicator, also known as the Vetus Gas Vent Temperature Alarm, is an essential safety device for monitoring the temperature of your boat’s exhaust system. This device is designed to inject water into the exhaust system and provide an early warning alarm when the temperature inside the exhaust hose or silencer exceeds safe limits.

With the Vetus XHI, you can have peace of mind knowing that any issues related to reduced cooling water volume, such as water intake clogs or damage to the water pump impeller, will be flagged in time. When cooling water volume is compromised, the exhaust temperature can rise significantly faster than engine temperature, potentially causing severe damage. The Vetus XHI system alerts you before this happens, ensuring your exhaust system remains in optimal condition.

We recommend installing a Vetus gas exhaust temperature sensor in the exhaust hose. This sensor is connected to the alarm system, which will provide both visual and audible alerts when the temperature inside the exhaust system reaches unsafe levels. Please note that the temperature sensors and alarm unit are ordered separately.

For boats with two engines, you can connect both sensors to a single alarm system. Additionally, one sensor can trigger two alarms, which is especially useful for boats with a second control station. The Vetus XHI alarm unit has an installation size of Ø 52 mm and an external size of Ø 62 mm, making it compatible with most boat configurations. It is available in both 12V and 24V versions to suit your system's requirements.

There are two types of sensors available:

• XHSM – For installation on a silencer.
• XHSH – For installation on an exhaust hose.
