Osculati 14.921.90 - Voltage Sensitive Relay
The Osculati 14.921.90 Voltage Sensitive Relay is an essential component for efficient battery management in dual battery setups. Designed to charge two batteries simultaneously using a single alternator, this relay ensures optimal performance and protection for onboard electrical systems.
Key Features:
- Charges Two Batteries: Simultaneously charges two batteries with a single alternator.
- Voltage Sensing: Monitors battery voltage to open and close contacts for charging.
- Battery Protection: Prevents draining of the starter battery and protects onboard electronic equipment from current peaks during engine start.
- Easy Installation: No modification of alternator cabling required for installation.
- 12/24V Automatic Selection: Automatically detects and adjusts to 12V or 24V systems.
- Compact Size: Dimensions: 68x68x50 mm
This Voltage Sensitive Relay operates by monitoring the voltage of the starting battery. When the engine is started, the relay remains open until the starting battery reaches 13.7 volts (for 12V systems) or 27 volts (for 24V systems). Once the threshold is reached, the relay closes the contact, allowing both batteries to be charged simultaneously.
When the engine is switched off and the voltage drops below 12.8 volts (for 12V systems) or 25.2 volts (for 24V systems), the relay opens the contact to keep the batteries separated. This prevents the wrong battery from draining and protects the starter battery from depletion due to onboard services.
With zero voltage drop and consumption in standby phase, this Voltage Sensitive Relay offers efficient battery management without compromising performance. Its compact size and easy installation make it a practical choice for various marine, automotive, and industrial applications.
