Rubber Design Rubber Shock Mountings – High-Performance Shock Absorption for Marine Applications
Rubber Design Rubber Shock Mountings (RDS) are specifically designed for marine environments, offering excellent shock deflection capabilities of up to 80mm. These mountings meet rigorous international shock specifications such as BV 043, BV 044, MIL-STD901D, STANAG 4142, and M.O.D. BR 3021. They are particularly suitable for marine applications where low-frequency vibration attenuation is essential, including propulsion engines, diesel generator sets, and auxiliary equipment.
Key Features:
- Shock Deflection: Can withstand linear shock deflection up to 80mm, ensuring optimal shock absorption in demanding environments.
- International Standards: Meets the requirements of BV 043, BV 044, MIL-STD901D, STANAG 4142, and M.O.D. BR 3021 for exceptional shock resistance.
- Vibration Isolation: Provides superior attenuation of low-frequency vibrations, ensuring smooth operation of sensitive machinery.
- Durability: Designed for long-lasting performance in the harsh conditions of marine applications.
- Individual Testing: Each mounting is individually tested and marked with production dates and identification numbers to ensure compliance with stiffness tolerances.
Applications:
- Marine propulsion engines
- Diesel generator sets
- Auxiliary equipment requiring vibration and shock attenuation
- Marine machinery and systems
RDS – EPM Mountings:
In addition to the existing RDS mounting range, the RDS EPM Mountings (type RDS-C165/95, RDS-C165/126 & RDSC250/154) provide the ideal solution for small equipment (up to 10 kN per mounting) such as water makers, pump sets, generator sets, and hydro-packs. These mountings offer both excellent vibration isolation and large shock displacement absorption, making them perfect for small rotary equipment that needs a combination of vibration and shock isolation.
RDS EPM Mounting Features:
- Large Shock Displacement: Can absorb up to 50mm of shock displacement in all directions.
- Identical Stiffness Characteristics: Due to the conical round shape, the RDS EPM mountings have equal stiffness in both longitudinal and transverse directions.
- Linear Stiffness: Provides linear stiffness across a wide load range, from compression to extension, ensuring optimal isolation properties.
Sandwich Mountings for Shock:
Our VRD 34/35 Type Sandwich Mountings are available with or without interleaf and are produced in a variety of rubber mixes (M45, MN50, and MN55) and sizes. These mountings are ideal for use as engine mountings in both main and auxiliary applications, as well as in earthquake-prone areas (additional calculations required). All mountings are tested for stiffness to ensure reliable and durable performance.
Advantages of RDS Rubber Shock Mountings:
- Efficient shock deflection up to 80mm
- Meets rigorous international shock specifications
- Provides low-frequency vibration isolation
- Durable and tested for long-term performance
- Customizable for various marine equipment and applications
The Rubber Design Rubber Shock Mountings are the perfect solution for marine applications, providing superior shock absorption and vibration isolation for engines and other critical equipment.
