The PSS 07-45M-314 Maintenance Kit is essential for maintaining the integrity of your 45mm shaft seal system. Regular inspection and timely replacement of components will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your equipment.
To maintain the PSS bellows, it is crucial to regularly check for signs of wear, aging, or chemical deterioration. PSS Seal recommends replacing the bellows every six years. When replacing the bellows, it is advisable to also replace the accompanying o-rings, set screws, and hose clamps. Fortunately, all necessary replacement parts are included in the PSS Maintenance Kit.

PSS Seal suggests replacing the bellows every six years. Additionally, during this replacement, it's recommended to change the o-rings and set screws in the stainless steel rotor, along with the hose clamps. Typically, the carbon stator and stainless steel rotor can remain in service without replacement.
Can I re-use my set screws when making adjustments or removing the PSS Shaft Seal?
No, set screws provided with the PSS Shaft Seal are cup-point set screws designed to compress onto the shaft when tightened. Reusing them can prevent the cup point from locking properly onto the shaft. The PSS Maintenance Kit includes five new set screws for your convenience.
