The PSS Maintenance Kit is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of your shaft seal system. Regular inspection and timely replacement of parts can prevent costly damages and ensure smooth operation.

As with any rubber or silicone component located below the waterline, the PSS bellows require regular inspection for signs of wear, aging, or chemical deterioration. PSS Seal recommends replacing the bellows every six years. During this process, it’s also advisable to replace the associated o-rings and set screws, as well as the hose clamps. The PSS Maintenance Kit includes all necessary replacement parts.

Included in the kit are:
- 1 Bellows
- 2 Nitrile o-rings
- 5 Set screws
- 4 Hose clamps
- 1 Tube of Thread Lock
- 1 Allen key
PSS Seal emphasizes the importance of replacing the bellows every six years. During this replacement, it is also recommended to change the o-rings and set screws in the stainless steel rotor along with the hose clamps. Typically, under normal conditions, the carbon stator and stainless steel rotor will not require replacement.

Regarding the set screws, it is important to note that they cannot be reused when adjusting or removing the PSS Shaft Seal. The set screws provided are cup-point set screws, which compress onto the shaft when tightened. Reusing them will prevent proper locking onto the shaft. Fortunately, the PSS Maintenance Kit includes five new set screws.
